Can the mechanic arrange a new time with me personally?
Occasionally a mechanic is delayed or can’t make the agreed time —traffic, or a previous job running over. Your mechanic will contact you directly to arrange a new time. If the time offered doesn’t suit you, WhatsApp our team and we’ll either find one that does or assign another mechanic in your area. You’re never left waiting without an answer.
Do I need to be present on-site when the car is repaired?
No, you do not need to be present on-site necessarily, as long as the mechanic can gain access to the car. That means you or someone you authorise should be there to give the mechanic access to the car.
Do I need to provide the mechanic with any parts or tools?
No. Your mechanic arrives with all the tools and equipment needed, and we supply the parts as listed on your quote. If you’ve arranged to supply your own parts, please have them ready before your appointment note that we can only warrant our workmanship on customer-supplied parts.
Do the mechanics carry an ID to prove who they are?
Yes. Every mechanic on the Michanic network is vetted before they take a single booking we verify their qualifications and run background checks.
Before your appointment you’ll receive your mechanic’s name and photograph, so you know exactly who to expect. They arrive in Michanic branded uniform and carry their driver’s licence, which you’re welcome to ask to see.
If the person at your gate doesn’t match the photo we sent you, don’t let them in WhatsApp us immediately and we’ll verify on the spot.
I need to communicate additional requirements to the mechanic, where can I leave a note?
Click add note when making your booking and your mechanic will see it before arriving useful for gate codes, complex access, parking, or anything specific about the job. You can also WhatsApp us on 0878039000 at any time and we’ll pass it on.
I want to call the mechanic assigned to me, where do I obtain his number?
Your mechanic’s details are shared with you once your booking is confirmed, so you can reach them directly about arrival and access on the day. For anything about your quote, payment, rescheduling or a complaint, please come to our team instead — WhatsApp us and we’ll handle it.
My mechanic has contacted me with an amended quote, is this okay?
Revised quotes come from Michanic, not from your mechanic. If your mechanic finds that extra or different parts are needed, they report back to us and we send you an updated quote to approve. Nothing extra is fitted or charged until you’ve agreed to it.
If a mechanic ever asks you to pay them directly or quotes you a price outside of Michanic, please don’t pay it WhatsApp us straight away.
My mechanic has not turned up, how do I make him turn up asap?
If your mechanic hasn’t arrived at the booked time, call them directly first the number is in your booking confirmation, and it’s usually traffic or a job running over. If you can’t reach them, WhatsApp us with your booking number and we’ll get hold of them and give you a straight answer.
If the mechanic genuinely can’t get to you, we’ll put it right depending on the situation that may mean assigning another mechanic in your area, rebooking you at a time that suits, or refunding you. You won’t be left out of pocket for a no-show.
My mechanic turned up, but I was unable to receive him, what happens now?
If our mechanic arrives and can’t access your vehicle, a call-out charge applies to cover their time and travel please see our booking policy for details. If something unavoidable comes up, let us know as early as you can and we’ll do our best to reschedule instead.
Should I leave the keys to my car with my mechanic?
Yes, where the job requires it. Most work needs the ignition on at some point, so your mechanic will ask for the keys and return them to you as soon as the job is done. Every Michanic mechanic is vetted and background checked, and your booking records exactly who attended your vehicle.
The mechanic left before the work was fully completed. What happens now?
Sometimes a job can’t be finished in one visit a seized bolt, or a part that turns out to need replacing too. Your mechanic should explain what’s happened before leaving, and your return visit will be arranged as soon as possible. If nobody has been in touch, WhatsApp us with your booking number and we’ll confirm your return date.
The mechanic took far less time to work on my car than that I had been originally quoted for. What can I do?
Our pricing is based on standard industry labour times for the job, not on how long your particular mechanic takes. A very experienced mechanic may finish faster; another may take longer and if they do, you’re never charged extra. You pay the quoted price either way.
What happens if after my initial booking the mechanic has no time for a follow up booking?
If your mechanic can’t schedule the return visit within a reasonable time, we’ll assign another qualified mechanic in your area to complete the work. Your job doesn’t get dropped.
