Payments and Refunds

Yes. Michanic never stores or handles your card or banking details. Payments are processed by established third-party providers — Peach Payments, Ozow, RCS, Capitec Pay, ZeroPay, Payflex and Happy Pay each maintaining their own bank-level security standards.

Every job is paid through Michanic rather than privately with the mechanic, so every payment is logged, transparent and refundable. How you pay is up to you: card, Instant EFT, RCS, Capitec Pay, buy-now-pay-later, or a manual EFT or cash deposit into our account.

You can pay in full to secure your booking, or if you’d rather not pay a new service upfront pay a 50% deposit and settle the balance with the mechanic on arrival, once you’ve seen us turn up.

There are two situations:

You cancelled a booking. Cancel through Manage Booking and our refund and cancellation policy will determine what is refunded. Refunds take 7 to 14 days to process.

You’re unhappy with the work done. All work carried out by a Michanic mechanic is covered by our 6 month / 6 000 km workmanship warranty, whichever comes first. Contact us and we’ll investigate with you and the mechanic, arrange a return visit to put it right, or if it can’t be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction decide on a full or partial refund based on the evidence.

Your deposit or full payment is made through Michanic at checkout. If you’ve chosen the 50% deposit option, you can settle the remaining balance with your mechanic in cash on the day. You can also pay by manual EFT or cash deposit into our account — select manual payment at checkout for our banking details.

Yes, two ways:

Instant EFT — choose Ozow at checkout and pay straight from your banking app. Your booking is confirmed immediately.

Manual EFT or cash deposit — our banking details appear at checkout and on your quote. Pay from your banking app, at your bank or at an ATM, and use your quote number as the payment reference so we can match it to your booking. Send us the proof of payment and we’ll confirm.

Yes. Choose one of our buy-now-pay-later partners at checkout — ZeroPay, Payflex or Happy Pay and split the cost of your repair over several payments. RCS is also available if you have an RCS account. Approval, terms and instalment amounts are set by the provider, not by Michanic.
