Do I need to be present on-site when the car is repaired?
No, you do not need to be present on-site necessarily, as long as the mechanic can gain access to the car. That means you or someone you authorise should be there to give the mechanic access to the car.
Do I need to provide the mechanic with any parts or tools?
Unless you have agreed with the mechanic to supply the parts for a job yourself there is no need to supply any parts or tools.
Do the mechanics carry an ID to prove who they are?
Unfortunately we cannot force mechanics to carry ID with them to a job, nor force them to show them upon request. As a matter of courtesy, though, we do ask for mechanics to carry a means of identification with them when visiting customers, to give you peace of mind. We also provide you with a photograph of the mechanic that will be attending to you, so you can therefore verify the identity via the photograph.
If in any doubt about the mechanic, please get in touch with us, we will be able to verify for you. For ways to contact us please see www.michanic.co.za/contact/.

My mechanic has contacted me with an amended quote, is this okay?

If you are unhappy with your mechanic’s conduct please get in touch with us, we will launch an investigation to find out whether the amended quote is justified. For ways to contact us please see our contact page.

Should I leave the keys to my car with my mechanic?
Where necessary, and if the mechanic asks you for the keys you should consider leaving the keys with the mechanic. The mechanic might otherwise not be able to carry out his work as planned.
The mechanic left before the work was fully completed. What happens now?
In some cases it can be that a mechanic is unable to finish a job because of unforeseen setbacks beyond the control of the mechanic; like a seized bolt or ancillary parts that turns out to need replacing as well. The mechanic should of course always endeavour to complete the work as soon as possible and inform you about any issues at hand.
Should the mechanic fail to complete the work at all in a reasonable time, please get in touch with us. We will then launch an investigation to establish why the mechanic has not fully completed the work.
The mechanic took far less time to work on my car than that I had been originally quoted for. What can I do?

If the mechanic is unable to supply a satisfactory answer always get in touch with us via our contact page. We will launch an investigation and will always endeavour to find a solution.

What happens if the mechanic cancels the appointment with me?
Unfortunately, it can sometimes be the case that a mechanic on our network cannot hold the appointment due to unforeseen circumstances or otherwise.
