The Appointment

Yes, in some instances it can be that the mechanic cannot hold an appointment at the time agreed initially. The mechanic will contact you to arrange a new time. Should the new time suggested not be satisfactory to you, then please get in touch with us through our contact page.

No, you do not need to be present on-site necessarily, as long as the mechanic can gain access to the car. That means you or someone you authorise should be there to give the mechanic access to the car.

Unless you have agreed with the mechanic to supply the parts for a job yourself there is no need to supply any parts or tools.

Unfortunately we cannot force mechanics to carry ID with them to a job, nor force them to show them upon request. As a matter of courtesy, though, we do ask for mechanics to carry a means of identification with them when visiting customers, to give you peace of mind. We also provide you with a photograph of the mechanic that will be attending to you, so you can therefore verify the identity via the photograph.

If in any doubt about the mechanic, please get in touch with us, we will be able to verify for you. For ways to contact us please see www.michanic.co.za/contact/.

If you have any additional requirements for the booking you made, like specific parts or extra work that needs to be carried out, please call us on 087 803 9000 and we will endevour to ensure that your needs are met.

We always endeavour to give quotes upfront, normally the prices that is quoted to you on the site is what you will pay. It can be that in some cases the mechanic sees reason to suggest a different price to what is quoted on the website, for example if special parts are required.

If you are unhappy with your mechanic’s conduct please get in touch with us, we will launch an investigation to find out whether the amended quote is justified. For ways to contact us please see our contact page.

In some cases it can happen that you were unable to receive the mechanic to carry out the repair due to unforeseen circumstances. Normally, there would have to be a charge to cover for the mechanic’s time and fuel costs, please refer to our booking policies on www.michanic.co.za/terms.

Where necessary, and if the mechanic asks you for the keys you should consider leaving the keys with the mechanic. The mechanic might otherwise not be able to carry out his work as planned.

In some cases it can be that a mechanic is unable to finish a job because of unforeseen setbacks beyond the control of the mechanic; like a seized bolt or ancillary parts that turns out to need replacing as well. The mechanic should of course always endeavour to complete the work as soon as possible and inform you about any issues at hand.

Should the mechanic fail to complete the work at all in a reasonable time, please get in touch with us. We will then launch an investigation to establish why the mechanic has not fully completed the work.

In the first instance, always try to resolve an issue like this with the mechanic, there are many factors involved as to why a job might take less time than quoted for and in some instances it might take longer. If the mechanic is unable to supply a satisfactory answer always get in touch with us via our contact page. We will launch an investigation and will always endeavour to find a solution.

If the mechanic cannot schedule the job within a reasonable time, we will assign another great mechanic in your area to carry out the work on your car.

Unfortunately, it can sometimes be the case that a mechanic on our network cannot hold the appointment due to unforeseen circumstances or otherwise. In this case we expect the mechanic to communicate this to us as soon as possible, this will enable us to find you a new mechanic in your area to take over the work.

Unfortunately it can sometimes happen that a mechanic is running late due to traffic or another job taking longer than scheduled for. We always ask the mechanics on our network to communicate with you directly should there be any issues.

In the case that the mechanic fails to communicate with you, please leave us a message we will try and get in touch with the mechanic and find out why he is late.

In this case the mechanic should suggest an alternative time of arrival. We ask each mechanic on our network to keep in touch with you should they not be able to make the agreed time. If the mechanic’s proposed time is not adequate please leave us a message, we will launch an investigation and will endeavour to find a solution.
